In the Netherlands, summer has begun and the school holidays are just around the corner. In Cambodia, we are halfway through the school year, with exciting new developments. The teams from both DARA Europe and Stellar Child Care Organization (SCCO) are actively engaging in various activities. Read about what we are working on and what is planned.

Second Phase of Community Center Construction
We are starting the second phase of the new construction project. Thanks to “Wilde Ganzen” (Wilde Ganzen Foundation | We support change makers), our donors, and new sponsors, the construction of the 3rd floor will be completed. The contractor is satisfied with the results so far; the developments are progressing smoothly and according to plan.
For the third phase, the finishing of the building, we are still seeking more funds and donors.
Healthcare for Andong
DARA Europe also supports SCCO in the field of healthcare. In collaboration with various partners, SCCO provides solutions for children in the educational programs. In recent months, several children with dental problems visited the dentist, and children with hearing issues received help from All Ears Cambodia.
Additionally, SCCO raises awareness on health and hygiene, both in the classroom and during parent meetings, youth group sessions, and the self-help groups. For emergencies requiring medical assistance, SCCO can assist the families thanks to the support of DARA Europe.

Annual report 2023
Looking back at 2023, significant strides have been made in Andong, Cambodia with the start of construction and the expansion of educational offerings. On page 13 of the annual report, you can read all about our impact. We are proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to an equally successful 2024. On July 14, DARA Europe, in collaboration with the SportPlaza gym from Ter Apel, hosts a Yoga and Wellness Day in Roswinkel, Drenthe.
Prefer not to take a yoga class? You can also indulge yourself in a wood-fired sauna and take a refreshing dip in the pool.
Join us for a day of relaxation and well-being! The proceeds from this event will go to DARA Europe.
