Vacancy for international program manager in Cambodia

Are you an experienced program manager who wants to make a difference for the future of children in Cambodia? Do you enjoy working on the further development of programs, and are you energized by international cooperation? Then Stellar Child Care Organization (SCCO) would like to meet you!

Stellar Child Care Organization (SCCO) is an NGO dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in the village of Andong in Cambodia. To manage the programs, projects and plans, we are looking for an international program manager. You will work largely on location in Andong, about twenty kilometers from the center of capital Phnom Penh.

Will you give the children in Andong a bright future?

As program manager, you will make an important contribution to SCCO’s mission: a good future for the children in Andong. You will liaise between the international board and the local team, and contribute to the development of sustainable solutions. You direct the programs and projects in Andong, and you maintain contacts with (existing and new) partners. In addition, we give you all the space you need to explore your own initiatives.

What you will do

The program manager is responsible for the monitoring, evaluation and ongoing development of SCCO’s programs and projects in Andong.

Your responsibilities include monitoring the implementation of education and support programs for children, young adults and families. You will build solid networks that contribute to community resilience and self-sufficiency, and identify emerging opportunities for income-generating activities. You will also mentor the local team, and enhance the skills and learning capacity of teachers, social workers and other professionals.

You will have an independent position on location, but you will always work closely with the SCCO board member in the Netherlands and the professionals and volunteers in Andong. You will also be in contact with various partners and stakeholders, including the Cambodian government, the local elementary school and other NGOs.

In addition, you have experience with program management in an international context, and you see it as a challenge to translate strategic and financial ambitions into concrete programs and projects.

You in brief

  • You have at least 2 years of program management experience
  • You have experience and/or interest in working in an international context
  • You have excellent knowledge of the English language, verbal and written.
  • You have an affinity for working with children and their parents.
  • You have strong communication skills, and you easily connect with various stakeholders.
  • You operate proactively and solution-oriented.
  • You are creative, flexible and service-oriented.
  • You are energized by coaching professionals and teams.
  • Knowledge of sponsorships, grants, partnerships is a plus.
