DARA Europe’s team consists of volunteers. We are always happy with new team members who want to use their talents for our foundation. This can be done, for example, by supporting our communication with donors, writing to potential donors, writing of a project plan or setting up a sponsoring activity. As a team member you can also occasionally participate in sales activities or give a short presentation during a meeting. It will cost you a few hours a month and energy that you yourself are willing to invest.
Do you not want to participate as a team member but have a good idea for a sponsor activity or see other opportunities? Then we’d love to hear from you.
Because SCCO is a small organization, there are no standard jobs or volunteer programs in Cambodia. This does not mean that we are not open to volunteers, on the contrary! It means that we expect a very proactive attitude from volunteers.
If you are interested, we would like to hear from you about what are your hobbies and passions, what are your expertise and how you think you can share your experience in our programs. Based on your input, we can determine which programs would suit you better and discuss the options with you.
We have also listed a number of ideas and possible projects:
- English tutor for our high school students,
- Coaching in the field of management and organizational skills for the project coordinator and director,
- Organize extra-curricular activities in Andong (e.g. sports and games, painting, educational games, reading, etc),
- Assisting the teachers with English lessons,
- DIY projects (e.g. painting the school).
In addition to a proactive attitude, we expect from volunteers respect, flexibility and understanding for others cultures. It is important to know that working conditions in Andong are not always optimal. At the same time, this is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to a better future for Cambodian children and their families and it will undoubtedly be a very valuable and unforgettable experience.
